Blue Access for Members^SM (BAM^SM) Password Update

In our continuing effort to help keep our members’ personal information safe, we have updated the criteria for BAM passwords. The next time a member logs in to BAM, they may be asked to create a stronger password.

Stronger Password Guidelines

The password must include the following:

• Include 8 to 40 characters
• Must include a mix of an uppercase letter, a lowercase letter, a number and a special character
• Include one of the following special characters: ! @ # $ % ^ & * ( ) { } [ ~
• Not include repeating characters (e.g., “aaa111”)
• Not include sequential letters or numbers (e.g., “abc123”)

In addition, the following guidelines — while not required — can further help members create a more secure password:

• Don’t include personal information (e.g., first name, last name, birth date).
• Make sure the user name and password are different.
• Change the password often.
• Make sure a new password isn’t the same as the last six passwords.
• Never share the password with anyone via email or any other means.
• Never write the password down.
